Purpose
This feature enhances the discoverability of Takealot Pickup Points (TPPs) to make it easier for customers to find nearby locations for order collection.
Benefits:
- Lessens the amount of time it takes for a new customer to find a TPP
- Reduce the number of customers that abandon a Collection checkout process in favour of a Delivery
- Drive traffic to TPPs which is ultimately cheaper for Takealot and the Customer than deliveries.
New Customers: Can use the “Use my location” option to find the nearest TPP or select a province.
Returning Customers: The “last used” TPP will still be pre-selected for faster checkout or they can still choose the option to use their location to be allocated the nearest TPP.
Prompt to turn on location services:
1. When a customer visits the Takealot Pickup Points screen, they will see a button or link titled “Use my location”.
2. If the customer clicks on “Use my location”, a browser pop-up will appear, asking for permission to access their location. They can choose to allow or block this request.
2. If the customer clicks on “Use my location”, a browser pop-up will appear, asking for permission to access their location. They can choose to allow or block this request.
3. If the customer "allows location", the list of TPPs should be ordered in order of distance (from closest to furthest from the user’s location)
4. If the customer blocks location permissions and tries clicking “Use my location” again:
- IF the browser supports it, they will see the pop-up again to enable location services.
- ELSE, they will see an error message: “Cannot determine your location. Please allow location permissions for this website in your browser settings.”
For the Returns flow, the same rules and functionality from the Checkout process will apply. These include:
1. First-time users will see an empty list on the TPP screen until they select a province or use their location.
2. Location Services Prompt: Customers will be prompted to enable location services for easier TPP selection.
3. Once the location is enabled, the distance to each TPP will be shown.
4. Service Error Handling: Clear error messages will guide customers if location services are unavailable.
5. Last Used TPP: Returning customers will see their previously used TPP pre-selected.
6. Info Button: Clicking the info button will display TPP details like location and operating hours.
