Seller Application
Suppose a seller decides on the relevant promotion or Daily Deal they are interested in; they will prepare and submit an application using either the Bulk Promotions Uploader or via the Seller Portal by navigating to Ads & Promotions on the left navbar, and clicking on Promotions Calendar. On the Promotions Calendar page, navigate to the Calendar-view section, select the promotion you want to participate in, and you will be redirected to the application page. Acknowledgement Email
After submission, the seller will receive a confirmation email within 60 minutes of receiving their application. Should the seller not receive a confirmation email within an hour after submitting their application, they must contact Seller Support. Sellers will receive primary rejections should their application not meet the minimum Promotions/Daily Deals requirements. We’ll discuss Primary Rejections as the article progresses.
Takealot Vetting Process & Provisional Acceptance
The Promotions Operations Team reviews all received applications that comply with the Promotional Requirements to ensure they are relevant to the themed Promotion or Daily Deal they applied for. Sellers whose applications comply with the requirements will receive a Provisional Acceptance Email while their applications undergo vetting.
Below are the type of rejections Takealot puts rejected applications in.
-
Primary Rejection
Suppose a seller’s application does not comply with the Promotional Requirements. The seller will receive a rejection email indicating the rejection reason. The outlined reason is a fixable one, and the seller can resubmit the application within the submission deadline. The feedback emails are sent out at 9 AM or 3 PM Daily.
-
Secondary Rejections
The Promotions Operations team will run a secondary relevancy assessment one business day before the live date of the Promotion or Daily Deal. Should the seller’s application no longer comply with the following:
- The Promotions Requirements: Due to a sudden change in the RRP or Selling Price.
- Low/No Stock Availability: Due to sales before the start of the promotion depleting the available stock (deal stock) required to participate in the Promotion/Daily Deal.
The seller will receive a rejection email.
Difference between Primary Rejections and Secondary Rejections
Primary Rejections are generally fixable rejection types. Sellers receive this rejection type within 24 hours of applying, and they can resubmit their application after rectifying the outlined reason within the submission deadline. Secondary Rejections, on the other hand, are not fixable rejection types, and sellers will only receive this rejection type on two occasions:
- After the submission deadline for a Promotion/Daily Deal passes.
- One business day before the start of the Promotion/Daily Deal.
Should a seller receive a Secondary Rejection, the seller will be responsible for managing their application’s fix to ensure it is updated and submitted within the submission deadline.
