Returns are logged using the Exchanges & Returns section under your account profile. Simply select the item to be returned, click Return, and complete the online form.
An item can be returned for one of the following reasons based, on our returns policy rules and will be subject to evaluation upon collection:

Returns can be logged on all channels we offer.
- Website (Desktop)
- Mobisite
- Mobile Apps ( Android or IOS)
- Go to the website, www.takealot.com
- Click on Login and enter your username and password
- Click on My Account - this can be found on the top right hand corner of the webpage. (note a dropdown will appear)
- Click on Returns
- Click on Log Return - this will be found in the top right corner
- A list of all orders placed will appear - the most recent order placed will be on top
- Click on Select Order - right next to the item you wish to return
Select the item you wish to return in the order.
Items will be separated into Returnable and Non-Returnable items
An explanation of eligibility will be provided as to why the item would be non-returnable
Filling in the Form:
1.1 Reason for Return
- Product does not meet my expectations
- Damaged/Defective
- The product is not what I ordered or described
- Exchange
1.2 Quantity and variation
1.3 Preferred Outcome
Dependent on the Return reason, the customer can choose between the below outcomes.
- Credit
- Refund
- Replacement
If the customer chose “The product is defective or damaged” or “The Product is not what I ordered or not as described” a comment describing why the item needs to be returned can be left in the block provided (advise customer to leave a detailed comment).
1.4 Add another item
You can add more than one item to log multiple returns at once. Follow the same instructions as above
2. How would you like to Return this item (Return Method)
2.1 Please collect the item from my address - The customer needs to select an address. Previously used addresses will auto-populate for the customer to choose from
2.2 Selecting “I will return the item to a Takealot Pickup Point” - Customer can select a Takealot Pickup Point situated closest to them from the list provided
Please note: there are certain restrictions relating to TPP point (not warehouse), like alcohol and bulk items can't be returned to any of our Pick up Points so if the customer is returning one of these, they will not be able to choose the TPP option.
3. Enter contact details
Customer can enter their contact details or contact details of who will hand over the return
4. Submit Return Request
Important for customers when preparing their return:
- Package the item safely & securely for protection during the collection process
- Clearly, mark the returns reference number (RRN) on the package
- Include all parts & accessories that were sold with the product
